Day Twenty Two

Back to Brazil Main Page

November 21

Well another day gone.
This morning I was a little slow due to lack of sleepage.
So to get in the mood I did a walk around to look at the work of the other artists.
And stopped and played with the shy plants.
I am not sure of their proper name, but they are small plants, that when touched, they wilt.
Then in 5 minutes they come back to life.
I have some video of it but seem to have troubles sending the file.
So that will be shown when we get back to Canada.
The first 5 pictures are of Elias's work.
He is a fine craftsman, and his education in Italy shines forth.
In the one picture he not only sings Italian Opera, but he also etches the scripts of Opera, in pencil over his sculpture.

Then Evrim working hard.

Here is Fernando from Spain.
He is always in good spirits, and I would consider his work precise...
He seems very clean and direct in his sculpting, versus Elias who I would describe as more traditional.
Notice Fernando has carefully piled all his cuttings.
He seems well planned in all his cuts, and has more time to interact and help other sculptors.

Also attached photos of the works of some of the other sculptors.

The ants go marching down....

These little guys worked all morning hauling leave to their home.
Strange how the same plants grow right beside their nest yet the grass is always greener on the other side of the road.

Well this is the progress of the day...

Elias not only sang for her he insisted she have a small flower on her swimsuit, and he stenciled in a small flower on her right hip....

The first 3 pictures are of my assistant Victor.
Well today he gave me the whole afternoon, and it is a relief to have his help.

The next 3 are of me slaving away...

Well another pizza night, which was a welcome relief from the regular meal, and enjoyed by all.

Well all in all it was a good day, and achieved where I wanted to be so I decided to take the evening a bit earlier.
Rest is in needed here.

Here Is my favorite picture of today.
I just happened to catch the clouds in the right place highlighting my sculpture...
Kinda cool
