Day Sixteen

November 15

And now we reach the half time show.....
Today was a national holiday when brazil celebrates the declaration of the republic and it's independence from Portugal.

Well most of the sculptors went to the beach, except a few like me...
I actually let myself sleep in till 7 am

It felt good and it becomes harder and harder to wake each morning.

Well this morning I was approached by an Art Critic.....
Jorge Grimm
He speaks a little of almost every language, and that alone seems interesting.
Well I came here to be judged and criticized, so let Jorge have his way.
Actually in all fairness I am curious what he will have to say.
I hope to be able to follow him in some way just to see his comments.
I directed him to my website, in hopes it will give him a better prospective of who I am.
And I think this blog has become a part of the art work in itself.
The best experience is from both sides...

Well today was a constructive day for me.
I feel I achieved close to what and where I want to be...
I have not had a sighting of my "former " assistant Jair....
Since Friday
And Victor has not been with me since Monday.
Which sort of messes with my plans with what I would have them do.
All in all the general outer form of " Armi" has come to be.
Now we start with the inner forms.
Here is where a test of my accumulated learning's will come to judgment, as
there is little room for error.
Well least to say "Armi " has suddenly peaked interest from onlookers, and
almost flipped a motor cycle.
Pretty good for just this stage

Did I mention when I showed up to the site this morning I had to fight with
3 people
Trying to tell them
Yes I know it is a holiday
I know I do not have to be here
But I want to be here
Yes I know everyone is going to the beach.

No I do not want to join them.
If I do not work
I do not finish

Dia, no work, no finish....

Toda bein

Forgot to mention I tried forgetting the pain in my hands by swiping my
thumb with a 2 kilo hammer...
Malleta....
Well that did not help my day...

Today getting what I intended done, I shut down early for the holiday...
Included are the pics from the days end.
I took a different way home today.
And snapped pics along the way.
Starting with the rodeo group back at it with their dune buggy steer..
Raw hide!

I walked along the river and snapped a few pictures along the way.
On the way home stopped by a rock venue to watch for a bit, seems everyone was
enjoying the hot clear skies of the holiday.
And then there is me enjoying the music, forgetting I look like a grim reaper, in white talc, and everyone is staring at me instead of the band.
So I am off to shower.

I just checked it out

The coriolis effect...
Yup dumb thing, but the toilets flush counter clock wise...

Now all you in Canada can check and see that it flushes, or should flush
clockwise there...
So that wives tale proves correct.....
I did not think that was worth a picture, but if I get enough requests, I
will show ya.

The last picture here is of our sweet hotel...

Oh And I actually got a sun burn today,
even under all that talc, the sunsets ya.

For the past 15 days
we eat the same meals...
except for the mystery meat of the day, the rest is the same...

So Eddie Offered to take me for dinner today.

Well the first picture is my poor thumb,
a casualty of war....

The dinner with Eddie was not quite as I expected, it was better.
Seems I always find the great adventures, and chances to see and experience
the better side of life.
Eddie has a group of business men, and entrepreneurs..
A evening businessmen's luncheon...
A great group that meets at different houses each Wednesday and enjoy good
hospitality and friendly spirit.
I was treated like family as they welcomed me in and all enjoyed
the  story of my adventures on my blog translated by Eddie, and the story of
how I ended up here.
Scary thing is I was able to start following some of the conversations, even though
it took place in Portuguese...
The evening was a nice relief from the regular meal.

Spare ribs and service to wash it all down followed by hours of conversation.
And a few more beers....
It was an evening to be enjoyed as new friends were made.

Getting a chance to speak with Eddie helps me understand the life here in Brazil.

Today was truly enjoyed.
Thanks to great hosts, and warm hearts....

Well En Menya!!!!!!!!!
The rest of the pictures are a quick tour of Brusque, as we drove to the evening dinner...
